DAGA Facilities
The DAGA allotments have both pedestrian and vehicle access via gates behind flats in Mantle Road. We have a communal area backing onto the allotments with a noticeboard, toilet and parking along with storage for our deliveries of manure and woodchip.
Eco-Friendly Toilet
We are very proud of our NatSol compost toilet. These toilets require no mains connections and are odour free under normal use. The stainless steel pedestal and glass reinforced concrete composting chambers below are designed for long life and low maintenance.
For more information see www.natsol.co.uk
Our toilet requires maintenance - find out more here
DAGA Wheelbarrows
We have a small fleet of DAGA wheelbarrows in a barrow park in the yard. These are available for all members to use but MUST be returned to the barrow park after use.
Manure and woodchip
We have regular deliveries of manure and woodchips. This is free to all members.
Compost
If there is enough demand then our Organising Group may arrange for a group compost delivery.
The Footpath
Running the length of the allotments, the communal path was once muddy, litter strewn and hard to navigate!
Over the last few years, a number of dedicated members have turned out on working weekends to transform it into what you see today.
There are however, further improvements to be made and volunteers for working weekends are always required.
See more pictures of the path here
DAGA Members rules concerning the path are here
Rubbish Collection
Our bins are emptied weekly. Members are reminded to put the bins outside the gate so they are ready for collection on the appropriate day.
The Green bins are for cans, plastic and cardboard. No Food!
The Black bins are for almost everything else. No Rocks or Weeds. No rubbish from home.
They are collected early on at Friday and are collected from the front of Meadow Way so please put out on Thursday evening and return on Friday am.
